Ponoka Outreach School

Gemini covers the cost of their annual graduation banquet into to ensure their educational accomplishments can be celebrated with their family and friends.

Ponoka Community BBQ

community_pancakebreakfastGemini covers part of the cost to build the mobile BBQ for the Ponoka Community BBQ. The entire community is invited to attend the event in an effort to bring the neighbourhoods closer together through a block party. Gemini supplies road blocks and other necessary equipment needed to host a block party.

Trans Canada Trail System

The Trans Canada Trail is one of the world’s longest networks of multi-use recreational trails. Once fully connected, it will stretch nearly 24,000 kilometres from the Atlantic to the Pacific to the Arctic oceans, through every province and territory, joining nearly 1,000 communities and all Canadians.

The Trans Canada Trail is made up of nearly 500 individual trails, each with unique and varied features. Gemini co-sponsored a footbridge along the portion of the trail that connects Lacombe and Ponoka.

Ponoka Stampede Pancake Breakfast

Every July 1st for the past 13 years, Gemini has hosted a pancake breakfast in support of the Ponoka Stampede. Ponoka hosts one of the largest stampede events in Alberta, and the Gemini Stampede Pancake Breakfast helps to bring the community of Ponoka together in the spirit of stampede.

Ponoka Fish and Game & Rimbey Fish and Game

community_truckpullGemini helps to support the educational kid’s camp hosted by the Ponoka Fish and Game and the Rimbey Fish and Game. The week long outdoor educational program teaches youth outdoor survival skills and gives them the opportunity to experience the joy of going to camp. Gemini helps to ensure facilities are in good condition by building ramps so everything is handicap assessable,  assisting in structural work and building canoe racks so canoes can be safely stored.

Fort Saskatchewan Minor Hockey

Gemini is a proud sponsor of Fort Saskatchewan Minor Hockey (FSMH), which provides programs for nearly 700 players, both male and female, between the ages of 4 and 17. Every season, more than 40 teams representing FSMH compete in leagues and tournaments across Alberta and beyond. With the support of Gemini and others within the community, FSMH continues to promote health and wellness for the community’s youth.

Fort Saskatchewan Motorcycle Association Cancer Ride

Each year, Gemini is proud to be the corporate sponsor of the Fort Saskatchewan Motorcycle Association Cancer Ride. Taking place in July, the 200 kilometre ride includes a rally, hamburger lunch, show and shine and motorcycle raffle, among other events, with proceeds going towards the Cross Cancer Institute.

Corporate Challenge

community_bigbikeGemini participates in both, Calgary Corporate Challenge and Edmonton & Area Corporate Challenge. The Corporate Challenges are  volunteer-driven, Olympic-style events for Calgary and Edmonton’s business community. For two weeks each May in Edmonton and September in Calgary, employees, managers and volunteers throughout each city participate in a variety of athletic and non-athletic events. The results of this good-natured competition promotes the interaction of co-workers, builds morale, instills company pride, provides physical and mental conditioning for employees and enhances employer/employee relations. As a non-profit organization, the Calgary and Edmonton & Area Corporate Challenges  have raised millions of dollars for local Calgary and Edmonton charities and are continuously striving to increase contributions to their communities.

Gemini is also proud to support other youth sports teams, Central Alberta Threat Softball girls softball team, the Calgary Blackfoot Novice 1 Chiefs hockey club, the Sherwood Park Female Pee Wee A Force hockey club, and the Airdrie Xtreme Bantam AAA hockey club.
